"Looking for coolest girl teenage party ideas?
We've got it ALL here!"
Millions of screaming fans can't be wrong: American Idol is HOT!
Put the spotlight on fun with these American Idol party plans.

Invitations
Make sure everyone knows that there's party going on with one of these invitations.
- You're going to Hollywood!" The sentence is synonymous with the first American Idol episodes of each season, so there will be no mistaking where this party leads. Recreate the "Idol" logo on a piece of paper before adding the "Hollywood" message. Then write down the details (time, date, and location).
- Again, put the American Idol logo to use with another invitation idea. Choose a favorite clip from the judges, such as Randy's "That was HOT!" and add the caption to the logo page. Then write "American Idol is coming to your town! Meet in the audition room at (location) on (date) at (time) to see if you can be the next American Idol!"
- Create a flyer to announce your event. "American Idol is coming LIVE to (location). Be there on (date) at (time) to try out for your chance for a ticket to Hollywood!"
Decorations
Announce your party with the American Idol personalized birthday banner. Display it marquee-style with a message such as "'Idol' comes to (city or location)!" Hang it over the doorway or above the stage.
Set a stage up on one wall of the room, using lengths of streamers to frame the arena and make a curtain. If possible, line the ceiling and floor in front of the stage with balloons so that they look like the bright lights of Hollywood. More streamers against the wall make a great backdrop for the stage. Elsewhere around the room, bunches of balloons and looping streamers will amp up the party atmosphere. Hang silver stars for Hollywood excitement.
For the stage, have a karaoke machine on hand if possible. If you can dim the lights for performances, use large flashlights as spot lights.
To get the girls ready to strut on stage at the American Idol party, give each one an American Idol contestant number from the kit. Easily attach the numbers to the American Idol background placards for an authentic "Idol" experience.
Give each contestant, audience member, and judge their own copy of the American Idol event book. With score cards, stickers, prediction cards, and a gel pen, it's easy to keep performance notes on the teenage girls at your party. After the show, they can keep track of the television contestants with a section of the book dedicated to the televised program.
Complete your collection of girl teenage party ideas with a Glitter Microphone. Let each contestant take a turn with it on stage. While some American Idol party guests will want to belt out their own songs, others may prefer to lip sync with idol favorites so have an American Idol season 5 encores CD on hand for them.
Set the table with American Idol Themed Party Supplies. Choose from 9" dinner plates, 7" dessert plates, cups with the "Idol" logo, placemats, and napkins. Coordinating solid-colored supplies include a divided plate, cutlery, and table cover. Use the American Idol centerpiece on the table or hang it from the ceiling center stage.
Costumes
Let them help one another to prepare for their stage debuts by setting up mirrors with a selection of nail polishes, hair clips and sprays, and stick on earrings and nail décor. Once each girl has been made up, snap a "promotional" picture of her posing on stage.
Take group photos of giggling contestants for the upcoming tour.
Food
Being an American Idol diva can build up an incredible thirst! Try one of these favorite girl's teenage party ideas, and serve them in American Idol microphone cup for a creative twist.
- Sparkling "water" – Serve sprite or 7-up with a slice of lemon on ice.
- Fruit punch float – Pour fruit punch over vanilla ice cream for a deliciously pink surprise.
- Coke – The judges drink from Coke cups on every show, so carry on the tradition to your own American Idol party!
After the performance is the after-party! Include some of these buffet-style favorites.
- Sandwich platters – Create a do-it-yourself sandwich platter with an assortment of deli meats and cheeses and French bread cut into sandwich-sized pieces. Have pickles and condiments on the side.
- Fruit tray – Include favorites such as melons, strawberries, grapes, apples, and kiwi. Serve with cream cheese dip.
- Veggies and dip – Cut up carrots, green peppers, tomato, cucumber, and other popular raw veggies. Serve with ranch dip or melted cheese.
- White pizza – This neater, healthier version of a classic party food is made with a white sauce, cheese, and often spinach, mushrooms, or pesto.
- Tortilla chips – Popular teen munchies, these will disappear when served with salsa or sour cream.
Here are some easy American Idol cake ideas when its time for dessert.
- Bake cupcakes, ice, and top with American Idol mini light up guitars. Girls can clean the icing off and continue to enjoy the light up, musical guitars and bubblegum guitar picks that are included.
Ice a two-layer round cake with the colors of your choice, then place an American Idol light-up cake topper in the middle. The topper makes a great keepsake once the party is over. - If you are feeling creative, a sheet cake with the American Idol logo featured across the top is sure to be a hit! After icing the cake, use a toothpick to draw the logo lightly into the icing. Once the logo looks good, draw along the lines in the icing with dark blue to make the words pop.
Party Favors
Keep the fun going long after the party ends with this reinvention of an old favorite. American Idol mad libs will keep them giggling with the zany answers and outlandish sentences that result from this fill-in-the-blank fan favorite. Have one for each girl to take home.
Thank You Notes
Print photos of each girl on stage. Find a glitzy, glittery scrapbook page to cut into picture frames (available at most craft stores). Center one photo per page, allowing room for a border to show around the picture before trimming. Give one individual and one group photo to each girl who performed at your American Idol party.
