Colorful Memories First Birthday

The first birthday party is in many ways a congratulations to the parents for making it this far, and it should be full of memories of the past year with your child.
Making it colorful, keeps it interesting for all the young ones involved and makes the adults feel more child-like.

My first child's, first birthday was a colorful circle theme, and included such novelties as embellished circle covered invites with the birthday boys photo cut onto the shape of a #1, homemade streamers with circle photos of him throughout his first year of life, colorful goodie bags of chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with confetti frosting and mini M&M's all around sitting on a colorful circle, a homemade topsy-turvy circle-themed confetti cake covered in colorful circles, a homemade circles banner announcing the little one's name and birthday, a name plaque featuring real-life photos from around town objects spelling the birthday boy's name on circle cut scrapbook paper, and more.
I wasn't able, but you can easily add to this theme with embellished birthday party hats with big colorful circles on the front and the birthday slogan; circle-themed foods such as hamburgers, circle-cut fruit, meatballs, etc. all sitting on colorful circle platters; games with circles, such as ball games, ring toss, twister, duck-duck-goose, ring around the rosey, parachute and ball, etc.; even crafts for little ones involving circles, such as scrap booking a circle (old CD's are great), beading (adjust the bead size for age), coloring beach balls, etc...the possibilities are endless and endlessly fun!
