Coolest 13th Halo Birthday Party
(Kansas City Mo)
Ok Gamers this is for you!! I have a gamer chic in my house who is all about Halo which led to her 13th birthday party idea (this could work for boys too). We took Red and Blue cardstock and printed out a simple invite then burnt the edges of the invites with a candle (um Mom and Dad better do this part). The invites said-
HALO RED VS BLUE
An extraordinary adventure is about to take place on
Saturday August 20, 2011
The journey begins by meeting us at
Pizza Shoppe at 4:30
You will eat then be transported to the battle of your life! We will be going to an unfamiliar world full of unknown creatures.
You were either on the Red or Blue team and each player was a character from the video series. We all met at a local pizza place where we ate pizza opened gifts then demolished the cake (which is a model of the Halo Helmet of Tex from R vs B). From there we loaded everyone up and headed to a laser tag facility where everyone got the shirts and badges.
I arranged with the facility to have them separated in teams they played 2 rounds came out for snacks and arcade then went in for the final round. We purchased red and blue party plates, napkins, table plastic and fish netting to put on top of the plastic. I bought red and blue variety of candy from Party City. I bought the shirts at Michaels with stencils and fabric spray paint in black and silver. The badge holders were purchased at Walmart and we found pictures of each character on the web and printed "stats" on the badge with the name.
At the end of each tag the winners were announced. All the kids were given tokens for the arcade and everyone spent all of them!
I made the cake...
It was a long process! Since Halo is an Industrial like game the cake bottom resembled metal that was bolted on.
