Coolest April Showers Birthday Party

Remember the old saying "April Showers Bring May Flowers"? I knew this would be the perfect theme for my puddle loving, rain boot wearing son. What better way to celebrate a rainy April birthday than with lots of umbrellas, boots, clouds and raindrops?!!!

Coolest Color Palette: Raindrop blues, wellie red, and a touch of rainbow

Coolest Birthday Decor: Large clear umbrellas filled with rainbow colored paper balls hung from the ceiling, various shades of blue circles strung together made a raindrop garland, blue and white striped paper straw garlands, hand stitched cloud letters spelled out the birthday boy's name, a wellies table runner, hand stitched clouds, watering cans, and rain gear.

Coolest Birthday Desserts: White Cloud and red wellie shortbread cookies, both with a hand stitched icing detail, rain drop cake pops, s'more bar, and rain puddle cupcakes topped with umbrellas.

Coolest Party Favors: Each child received an umbrella that was personalized with a button monogram. Adults were given blue and white striped favor bags that said "April Showers Bring May Flowers" on the front. Tucked inside each favor bag was a beautiful orange chocolate flower cookie.

Coolest Activities: The children made rainbows by gluing rainbow colored pasta and cotton balls. We had some fun games planned for outside, but the weather was truly too terrible to go outside (despite hoping for rain, we didn't want the winds and hail!).

Coolest Part: The biggest compliment of the whole day came from my 4 year old son. He *loved* his little brother's party so much, he asked to have the SAME birthday party for his JUNE birthday!!!
