A Berry Happy Birthday Cake
I began by making 2- 8” round strawberry cakes with a homemade triple berry filling and butter cream frosting. Then mix up some of your fondant with blackberry flavoring and purple gel coloring to cover the cake with.
For the blueberries I mixed in blue gel coloring and blueberry flavoring. I rolled them into small balls and used the end of a toothpick to pull up small pieces of fondant to look like the stem end of the blueberry. And for the strawberries I made red fondant and a small amount of green fondant both with strawberry flavoring and formed the strawberries. I took the red fondant and rolled them into balls and then rolled one end of the ball into a funnel shape.
Then I rolled them in small green long sprinkles to look like the seeds of the strawberry. I then rolled out the green fondant and cut out the tops for the strawberries. I used water to attach the green top to the strawberry itself and made a little stem by just rolling a very small piece of the leftover green fondant into a tubular shape. I used the leftover butter cream icing to attach the fondant berries to the cake and lined the bottom of the cake with the blueberries.
