Coolest Hermit Crab Birthday Cake

I used a box of yellow cake mix and mixed it according to the directions and baked it in a quarter sheet pan. Once cooled I trimmed the excess cake off to make it flat and then flipped in on my cake board. I used a big icing bag and the big tip to put the icing on and then i used a bowl scraper to make everything smooth. I then took my airbrush and did the sides and top of the cake tan and then I took brown sugar and covered the top of the cake to make it look like sand.
A few days before I had made a batch of fondant. I preceded to tint it brown and made the log and once i was done shaping the log I made lines in using the pointed fondant tool you use for flowers.
I took a piece of white fondant and draped it down in a circle cookie cutter to get the shape of a drinking dish. I tinted another piece of fondant using red and brown to make a maroon color for the hermit crabs. I rolled up balls for the head and put 2 little pieces coming up for the eyes, cut out strips for the legs and used a leaf cutter for the claws.
I then made the shell using white fondant and I painted dots on using my brown airbrush color. I then put it all together on the cake and used buttercream icing to make the eyeballs, I used green buttercream with tip 21 and just went around in a circle and brought it up for greenery. Piped a 21 tip border and I melted different color chocolates and put it in a seashell candy mold I had and put those around the border.
