Scooby Doo Cake

I baked a 2 6" white cakes and 2 8" chocolate cakes. Once cooled I leveled them off so they would sit flat. I mixed teal buttercream and a lime green buttercream. I iced them using a big bag and big tip and smoothed the icing out using a bowl scraper. I put some teal in the bag first and then lime green and so forth to get that effect. Once the sat long enough to harden a little bit I then took a small rolling pin to smooth it out.

Once the 8" was on the silver cake board, I then put dowel rods on the bottom layer to support the top layer. I cut the excess cake board off the 6" and positioned it on top of the 8". i used the teal icing and used tip 21 for the flowers for the border and then added an orange center.

A few days before I had made up fondant, tinted it orange and used an a flower cutter and cut the flowers and laid them out to dry and rolled up a couple orange balls to go on the silver things sticking out of the cake. I also printed out the scooby gang and had them laminated to put on the cake.

Once the gang was on, I put the flowers on and piped white centers, put the scooby doo candle on top and wrote happy birthday on the cake board!
