Cowboy Party Invitations
The paper for your invitation is a great place to start with your cowboy party theme. To make cards that look like they are made from old leather, cut open a brown paper bag. Then, soak it in water and let it dry. Once the paper is completely dry, cut it into rectangles large enough to make your invitations. Because writing on the 'leather' can be difficult, cut white card stock for the inside. If you would like to make the white card stock look aged, tear the straight edge, dip it in tea, and singe the edges with a candle.
Now, how about rope lettering for the front? Mix some white glue with some yellow craft paint and scrape it into a sandwich bag. Try to keep it to one side of the bag. Then, if you cut the very tip off the corner, you will be able to 'write' in a fine line.
On the front of the cowboy birthday party card, use a pencil to draw out your headline. You could say something like, "Our little cowpoke (your child's name) is turning (X years old)." You can then follow the lettering with the glue. Once the glue has started to dry and still has that tacky feeling, touch it lightly with a cotton ball to make it appear slightly fuzzy. To make it look a little more like rope, rub it with some brown chalk on a cotton ball.
On the inside of the card, you can say "Gallop on over to (your address) for a big shindig! The fun starts at (Date and Time of your western themed party). Wear your best rodeo duds and join in the fun!"

Displaying your creative children birthday party ideas can begin outside.
Cardboard cutout silhouettes of horses, cowboys, and wolves announce the country birthday party, especially when items such as balloons and streamers are added. Old tree branches can be tied together to make a length of fence. Old cowboy boots, hats, and other items can be found at inexpensive second hand stores to dress up the fence. You can even take a drive in the country to find sagebrush and other wild flowers to add to your collage of rodeo cowboy themed decorations.
Cowboy Theme Party Room
To continue with your cowboy birthday party ideas indoors, a horse power personalized birthday banner is a magnificent way to introduce your guests to your child’s birthday party. From there, you can add streamers, balloons, and some of the other cutouts and items you used outside. Just keep in mind that too much decorative clutter does not work well with lots of partygoers. Things tend to be knocked over, not to mention that they can get in the way.
If you would like something with a little more presence in the room, purchase some inexpensive (but heavily weaved) cotton fabric stretched and stapled over a 2x2 frame. You can then paint on a sunset and add a fence and horse or other cowboy theme with black paint.
How do you do that?
It is easy. Take one of the cardboard cutouts and place a lamp on the other side of it. You can then use a pencil to trace out the shape. This way, all you have to do is fill it in.
To add to your already great children party ideas, use the rodeo cowboy party pack.
It has enough rodeo cowboy themed plates, cups, cutlery, and place mats for eight little preschool cowpokes. It also comes complete with a spectacularly themed tablecloth and placemats to corral the mess. Sixteen much needed cowboy napkins are completed in the pack as well.
To add a western flair to the place settings, add the rodeo cowboy centerpiece to the middle of the table surrounded by some confetti and foal figurines. Curling ribbon can be added in front of each place setting to give the western theme more of a party feel.

Cowboy Birthday Party Costumes
Ride them cowboy has never been so much fun before! Homemade costume ideas for kids are really simple when you keep with a cowboy theme. You can let your kids pick out a uniform that involves a long sleeve shirt, a vest, and of course some sturdy jeans for riding the trails. Then you give them the two most important accessories—a cowboy hat and boots because no cowboy is complete without this! If you want your little boy to enjoy acting as a cowboy, then you need to let him dress the part. You will have as much fun as they do getting them all dressed up and into character for this unique and fun type of kid's party!
Hats and bandanas are a great way to ensure the party guests can join in the country fun. You can also purchase or make sheriff's badges with cereal cardboard covered in tin foil.
Or just let the kids come up with their own cowboy birthday party ideas! They can make hats out of paper cones and draw, paint, or color their own cowgirl or cowboy pictures on them. The hats can then be curled up and taped shut. Yarn makes great ties to keep them on.

Cowboy Party Icebreaker Activities
Ride ‘Em Cowboy
When you think of a cowboy party icebreaker, you probably think of a cowboy riding off into the sunset. What better way to get kids engaged in this fun cowboy birthday party frame of mind than to give them their own horses. This isn't as crazy as it sounds because you just have to buy some of the wooden rocking horses or the horses on a stick for the kids to enjoy. They love to use their imaginations, and this is an excellent way to let them do so, to have some fun, and to burn off some serious energy. No matter what you do, just give them plenty of room to ride and run because this is sure to be a popular activity for kids of all ages. Let them all embrace their inner cowboy and go riding off into the sunset!
Cowboy and Sheriff
Cowboys are outlaws and sheriffs are the ones that wrangle them in each and every time. In this super fun cowboy party icebreaker, you can let the kids each play one of these roles. You can give them pretend badges, guns, hats, and them have their own little showdown. Boys love to chase each other around and this is a more modern and elaborate twist to the cowboy and sheriff game that makes for hours of fun in the sun! If you have the room in the backyard, that's an excellent place to let them play this. If you don't then just give them some space inside, the right accessories, and let them have fun battling it out.
A Real Cowboy Barbeque
If you can have a sleepover and have the room for this, then you can create an excellent cowboy party icebreaker very easily. You set up a backyard cowboy scene where they all come together with their hats, their guns, and their horses to rustle up some grub and talk about their travels. You create a campfire in your own backyard where the little cowboys can rest and talk about their busy day on the trail. You of course have to create perfect cowboy food such as foil pockets of meat and potatoes. If you are dealing with a pickier palette then just let them roast their own hot dogs and marshmallows. If weather permits, let them stay around the fire for hours, tell ghost stories, and even sleep under the stars just like the real cowboys do. This is a great way to let them embrace their inner cowboy and enjoy the way that it was back in the old days.
Be Your Own Cowboy
There is so much about a cowboy that little boys love. They all play this imaginary game from the time that they are old enough to do so, and so why not let them dress the part too? In this fun and easy cowboy party icebreaker, you let the kids dress up as a cowboy and have great fun doing so. You provide all of the accessories so that they know what to do and then watch them have some fun. You provide badges, cowboy hats, boots, guns, and even vests. You can get these supplies at a dollar store or party supply store so it doesn't have to be expensive or hard. When the boys get to dress up in their cowboy uniform, they will see what great fun it is. This is a great way to get them into the spirit and let them embrace that rough and tumble guy that lies within each of them!
