Coolest Scooby Doo Birthday Party

"Looking for coolest kids birthday party ideas?
We've got it ALL here!"

Planning a kids birthday party need not be a mystery especially if it is a Scooby Doo birthday party.

Have the big, brown, guffawing canine at your child's party and it will surely be a guaranteed hit!

Invitations

Invitations must be sent out two to three weeks prior to the date of the party. This is to make sure that the guests will be available at the said date and time. It is also a good idea to request for an RSVP or a confirmation of attendance so that you will be able to have enough food, game paraphernalia and giveaways for the party. There is a Scooby Doo invitation available in sets of eight (including envelopes) featuring the grinning mug of our favorite dog with a large paw print beside it.

If you prefer to make your own invitation, you may want to use a thicker type of paper (like card stock quality) and cut it in a paw print shape, punch a hole on top and run a colorful ribbon (or ribbons) through it. You can print the party details at the back portion and send it out as is. If paw prints are not your thing, maybe you can shape it as a dog bone.

Party Decorations

As Scooby Doo and Shaggy (and sometimes Scrappy Doo) often find themselves solving spooky mysteries, you may want to make that as a central theme - a sort of toned-down Halloween kind of party. In fact, you can use some of your Halloween decorations to decorate your place. Bring out your ghoulies and ghosties and a few of those beasties alongside with balloons in purple, blue, yellow and green colors.

Have a paw prints personalized birthday banner printed out in the celebrant's name to greet the guests. This is in heavy duty vinyl with metal grommets already installed for easy hanging. It comes in a Standard size (18in x 61in), Medium size (24in x 80in) or Large size (30in x 100in).

Tables can be covered in plain green and plain yellow table covers (in alternating order) and a scooby-doo centerpiece can be placed in the middle. For the main table or the cake table, you may want to use a scooby-doo tablecover. It measures 54 inches x 108 inches and is made of heavy duty plastic. It is perfect for the central theme – a Scooby Doo birthday party – and it is very easy to clean. No more worries for those spilled food and drinks.

Instead of having the usual name tags, why not have a dog tag name tag? From the list of attending guests, print out names and stick them in very sturdy kind of paper (try cardboard) cut in a shape of a dog bone. Punch out a hole on top and run a ribbon through it, long enough for the wearer to slip comfortably over his/her head. Want more? Provide kids with dog ears to wear (cloth ears stuck on top of a headband) so that everybody gets in the Scooby Doo groove.

If the birthday celebrant really wants to go all out and BE Scooby, there is a scooby doo costume available. It is a complete ensemble including a brown jumpsuit and a character hood. It can also be worn again come Halloween time.

Food

The star of a kids birthday party (aside from the celebrant) is the birthday cake. Here are some ideas:

  • The cake may be done in the shape if Scooby Doo's head

  • Have a picture of the gang (Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy, Velma, Daphne and Fred) scanned and printed on top of the cake in edible form
  • A dog bone shaped cake
  • A paw print shaped cake
  • Mystery Machine bus cake
  • A large cupcake for the celebrant and regular sized cupcakes for the guests with Scooby Doo characters decor on top

Aside from the birthday cake and the standard birthday food fare, how about having Scooby Snacks (trail mix, mini-chocolates, pretzel, chips, cereal snacks, etc.) served in clean dog food bowls? You may also have "Pigs In A Blanket" added to your Scooby Doo birthday party menu and call it "Scooby In Blankies" instead?

The Scooby Doo birthday party guests can partake of the yummies using the Scooby Doo 9 inch dinner plates made of durable paper, Scooby Doo 7 inch dessert plates and Scooby Doo 9 ounce cups that can hold warm as well as cold beverages. Wipe those smeared faces with bright Scooby Doo napkins in strong 3-ply paper.

Games

Birthday party games are always fun. Try out the following for your Scooby Doo birthday party:

  • Make Your Own Mummy – divide into groups and request the assistance of one adult per group to stand in as the mummy. Provide one to two toilet paper rolls per group and have them wrap their respective "mummies" completely and in the fastest time possible. First group to finish wins.

  • Pin the Tail on...Scooby – same rules apply as pin the tail on the donkey but instead use a tail-less Scooby as the image. Participants take turns blindfolded in pinning Scooby's tail.

  • Gelatin-eating contest – fastest to chow down gelatin in a bowl hands free wins.

  • Scooby says – a tweaked version of Simon Says
