Coolest Shrek Birthday Party
"Looking for coolest birthday party ideas?
Are you looking for themes for childrens birthday parties? Both boys and girls can enjoy a Shrek birthday party theme. You can keep the theme with your color choices, party favors featuring Shrek and his friends, and creative entertainment methods. Here are some great ideas for the party. Making the Guest of Honor Feel Special Whether your birthday party guest is a boy or a girl, you want to make them feel special at their own party. One way to do that is by letting them dress up in a unique way, possibly a way that is appropriate for the theme. For example, you could purchase a Shrek costume, a princess Fiona dress, or special Shrek ears he or she could wear during the event. Of course, you could also pass out the ears to all of your guests as part of their party favors. Feeding the Guests When you're thinking of themes for childrens birthday parties, you may not consider the refreshments you'll be serving. However, if you're creative, you can even keep the snacks and desserts in theme. Here are some suggestions:
You should also consider serving non-caffeinated drinks, such as lemonade, fruit punch, or lemon lime soda. Serve the drinks in nine ounce Shrek glasses that are the perfect size for little hands. Shrek Birthday Party Games Your Shrek birthday party shouldn't just be about food and presents for the birthday girl or boy. Additionally, you need to think about what would be a great form of entertainment for the children in attendance. Now you could take the easy way out and play the movie for the kids. This is definitely going to be a hit with the children, but it's not your only option. Plus, the movie might be too long for the party unless you are hosting a sleepover. Another idea is to have the kids complete Shrek Mad Libs. If you don't remember Mad Libs, these are short paragraphs kids complete with different types of words: nouns, adjectives, verbs, etc. Not only are these fun to complete, fun to share, and fun to hear but they are also a good way to teach parts of speech. You could also have some fun contests. For example, you could divide up the guests into teams and have bubble blowing contests. You could have guests compete to blow up balloons or you could create a scavenger hunt if you have a large enough party area or a safe enough public space. If you want to have a door prize for your guests, choose white paper plates and add Shrek stickers to the bottom of one or two of them. After the refreshments are served, ask guests to look at the bottom of their plates. If they have a sticker there, they get a prize. It's an easy and fun activity. Picking Party Favors Of course, your party favors should also match whatever themes for childrens birthday parties you have selected. You can find some great choices that go along with the Shrek theme. Below are some of the ideas you might want to consider:
Another option is an all-in-one party favor set. The Shrek party favor box contains several great items, including Shrek stickers, a blowout, a bouncing ball, a bag of Pop Rocks candy, and glow putty in a striped box. Decorating the Party Room Remember the important part of the Shrek theme is the color green so decorate with as much green as possible. Green and white streamers can be wrapped around columns, woven together down the center of tables, used to decorate the walls, and more. Blow up some green, white, and brown balloons and tie them to chairs and make centerpieces by tying them to weights. To make the weights, use empty baby food jars or matchbox containers filled with marbles or rocks. Wrap the jar or container in colored wrapping paper to make it look more festive. Saying Thank You Another important part of the Shrek birthday party is sending out the thank you cards when all the guests are gone. Teaching children good manners and appreciation is a good idea and the lessons started when children are young will last for a long time. To keep with the same theme, you can buy and send out Shrek Thank You Cards to all of the guests. Consider letting your children write their thank you messages in green ink. It's a little more fun and anything that makes the task of writing thank you cards more enjoyable is a great idea. Seal the envelopes with stickers and drop them in the mail.
