Space Theme First Birthday Party

3...2...1...Blast Off!! An out of this world birthday celebration:

Set the tone with a space inspired space theme birthday party invitation. It could be the shape of a rocket, or spaceship,or even feature an alien or planets. The content of the invitation can really set the scene:

Launch date--September X, 2010
Launch time--12 noon
Return to earth--3 p.m.
Space station--event location
RSVP to the mother ship
"

Space Theme Birthday Party Decoration

* Red, white, and blue paper goods--Americana and the space program go hand in hand!
* Rocket ship vase centerpieces
* Planet fabric table runners
* star sprinkles and American Flags
* outter space fact cards scattered on the tables (a little educational fun for every party!)
* space inspired hand painted posters featuring the party guest (ie. birthday boy inside a space shuttle, inside a space ship, walking on the moon, etc.)

Label the room with space inspired signs like :Space boys and space girls for the bathrooms or Rocket Fuel for the food.

You can be part of the decor too. Mom, dad, and birthday guest of honor all wear rocket ship t-shirts


Kids Birthday Party favors

For the kids: gift bags including outter space rubber ducky, silly star shaped straws, planet stickers. outter space pencils and notebooks (all from orientaltradingco.com).

Here is the kids favor box:



For the adults: home made CDs featuring songs about outter space (ie. Rocket Man by Elton John or Satellite by Dave Matthews Band).

Candy bar: guests can treat themselves to space inspired candy like Milky Way, Mars bars, Pop Rocks, Starbursts, Moon Pies



Kids Birthday Activities

1) Color your own rocket ship frames (orientaltradingco.com).

2) Picture yourself as an astronaut--astronaut face cut out with disposible cameras so the kids can pose. The photos can later be used as the thank you card.

3) Space rocket tent (found at Babies-R-Us).
