Star Wars Birthday Party - Celebrate Your Child's Birthday with Yoda!

"Looking for coolest birthday party ideas?
We've got it ALL here!"

It seems that most little boys at some point in time go through the Star Wars phase.

They've likely seen one of the movies and just love everything about it. This is a perfect time then to plan their very own star wars birthday party.

Invitations

You can find some really great invitations out there that feature some of the most important Star Wars characters. Even better you can find a whole party pack that includes the invitations, thank you notes, and even the paper plates to match in some cases.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Invitations Do you want an invitation that is truly going to draw attention the minute guests open them?

If you want to take your selected invitation to the next level you can add in some sparkly decorations that come out of the envelope. You could even get a Star Wars stamp in the shape of your favorite character and use that on the outside of the envelope - that way guests will know immediately the excitement that's in store for them.

If you really want to take the invitations the extra mile you could include a hand drawn picture from the birthday boy to be included with each invitation. Whatever you can do to incorporate in the theme and keep reiterating it will go a long way.

Decorations

This is where you can really have fun with creating your very own star wars birthday party.

Overall you want to be sure that you go with the associated colors and this is bit of a darker spectrum. The colors used throughout should include dark blue, black, grey, and silver. These colors used in ribbons and balloons for example are sure to set the scene.

Start by putting up dark blue, black, and grey balloons to help set the basis for the whole event. Then you can add in the streamers in the same color as it will look festive but in the appropriate Star Wars theme. To really top it off and go the extra mile, you can get a customized banner with the birthday boy's name in keeping in the theme.

You really need to bulk up on the decorations for this party. A standup figure of one of the main characters from the movie can make the kids feel as if they are actually in the movie. Imagine their eyes when they walk in and see Darth Vader standing right next to them, and it's easy for you to accomplish by Darth Vader standup. Using cut out figures or stand ups of the main characters are always an excellent choice and make the kids feel as if they are in the movie.

It's important to include centerpieces with the star wars birthday party, as well as everything that will be used that day in the same design such as the paper plates, napkins, and table covers. You can find great packages that include everything you could ever want in the exact same design that's like throwing a star wars birthday party in a box, complete with everything you could ever imagine.

However it may be a little more fun to mix it up go with the same napkins and plates, but then use a different table cover perhaps with a new character from the movie. This will give kids the illusion as if they are in the movie and they won't know where to look first!

Darth Vader Molded Candle If you really want to be the parents that remember every little detail to make it a super star wars party, you want every aspect to incorporate some element of the movie. One example is to include a Darth Vader molded candle and you will be sure to impress even the most subdued guest!

Costumes

A fun way to get kids involved is to have them come to the star wars birthday party dressed as their favorite character. This can get them thinking about the party ahead of time and then they can use their creativity to put together the perfect attire. You want to be careful to let the parents know that this can and should be kept simple so that it doesn't become a major expense.

Have the kids come in the basic elements of their favorite character's costume, but then supply one of the more important aspects.

If you supply a "lightsaber" to each of the kids they will just love it! You could even take it one step further and tell the kids to either dress in dark for Darth Vader or in tan for Chewie and then you as the host parent supply the appropriate mask.

Food & Cake

Be sure to include foods that you can associate or name after your favorite star wars character, even if you make them up a bit as you go along.

  • Serving Luke Skywalker hot dogs and tator tots, or how about some Hans Solo spaghetti. Serve the foods that you would normally serve to the kids but with a little twist to make it truly something special.
  • Some Jawa cookies will most certainly seal the deal as you can make dark chocolate cookies with orange M&M's for the eyes - they will look like the real deal and you can even use a cookie cutter to make them in the right shape.

The cake has to be one of the biggest centerpieces of the party. Whether you order from a local bakery or make it yourself, it has to be one of the biggest parts of the party theme.

Start with a dark colored frosting or at least use it as accents. Then be sure to use action figures of the very best characters to stand on top. If you are having it professionally done or are brave, then you can include a drawing in of Chewie or a Jawa but just be sure that you know what you're doing. Finish it off with the right greeting, something like "Have a Happy Star Wars Birthday". It will impress everyone and be a delicious way to enjoy the big theme party!

Party Favors

The favors of course have to keep with the theme to carry it out even after the kids have left. Be sure to include in each and every goodie bag some Star Wars stickers and maybe even some temporary tattoos. These are the type of thing that the kids can use well after the big event and will always remember the fun star wars birthday party that they were a part of. You can even give them a Star Wars balloon to take with them too!

Thank You Notes

Keep these simple and go with the same theme as the invitations. This may be a good time to go with a bundle pack and get the invitations and thank you notes all together. This will be a nice final reminder of the star wars party that they went to!
